 What is PremierOpinion?

PremierOpinion is an online market research community, which provides insight into how its members interact with the Internet. In exchange for agreement to have their Internet behavior monitored, computer users who join PremierOpinion are offered various value propositions, including the ability to download different software offerings, entry into sweepstakes, and a host of other benefits. Periodically, members are also invited to complete online surveys, which gauge their attitudes and interests on a wide variety of topics.


 What is the purpose of PremierOpinion?

The goal of PremierOpinion is to develop a better understanding of the trends and patterns affecting the Internet. Just as television uses ratings to determine which programs are the highest rated and most watched, PremierOpinion uses the knowledge of its members’ Internet habits to determine the popularity and importance of various web sites. Internet companies can then use this market research to make informed decisions regarding their online marketing strategies. PremierOpinion also strives to provide its members with valuable software offerings that can be safely downloaded and enjoyed. In addition, PremierOpinion software is registered in GRID, the Goodware Resource and Information Database.


 What are the eligibility requirements to join PremierOpinion?

Be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a binding agreement.

Review the membership agreement and consent to participate in the PremierOpinion community.

Own or control any computer that you allow to be configured for participation in PremierOpinion.

Be the parent or legal guardian of anyone under 18 having access to such computer.

You agree to inform those individuals with access to the computer on which the software is being installed that you have agreed to join PremierOpinion, and obtain explicit consent from those individuals to be a part of the panel and to be subject to the panel membership agreement.

To the extent that you are installing the software at work, you have the permission from your employer to install the software onto your workstation.


 What if my information, including my email address, changes?

Periodically, the PremierOpinion software may send members an email asking them to provide their contact or demographic information. If your email address changes, please notify us of this change using our support form. 


 What are the benefits to becoming a PremierOpinion member?

PremierOpinion sponsors select software that members enjoy for free. By joining PremierOpinion, members are given the opportunity participate in periodic surveys for which they get entered into sweepstakes or receive other rewards.


 What if I have any questions, comments and/or other problems?

If you have any questions, comments or problems of any kind, including technical issues you feel are related to PremierOpinion, please notify us through our support form. 

Please Note: PremierOpinion’s commitment to quality customer service is a high priority. PremierOpinion will make every commercially viable effort to respond to your questions or comments within the same business day. If a personalized response to a detailed question is needed, PremierOpinion will strive to respond to your questions or comments within 48 hours.

PremierOpinion will not be able to respond to your questions without a valid e-mail address. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose other than responding to your question.


 What if I don't want to be a PremierOpinion member anymore?

Although PremierOpinion hates to see members leave, we realize there are good reasons for you ending your PremierOpinion membership. If that is the case, follow these instructions to remove the PremierOpinion software from your computer:

Metro Mode- Windows 8

  • Right click on the "PremierOpinion" tile.
  • Select "Uninstall" from the menu presented at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select "PremierOpinion" and click on "Uninstall".
  • Reboot the machine to complete the uninstall process.

  • Desktop Mode - Windows 8

  • Open windows explorer and search for "control panel".
  • In the control panel, select "Uninstall Programs".
  • Select "PremierOpinion", and click on "Uninstall".Reboot the machine to complete the uninstall process.

  • All other Windows-based PCs

  • Go to your Start menu in the lower left hand corner of the computer screen.
  • In the menu, select Settings, then Control Panel (select "Control Panel" only for Vista & Windows 7).
  • Under the Control Panel menu, find and select the icon for "Add/Remove Programs" (or "Programs and Features" in Vista and "Programs" in Windows 7).
  • Locate PremierOpinion from the auto populated list of software currently installed on your computer. Highlight PremierOpinion and then hit Remove (or "uninstall" in Vista and Windows 7).
  • A prompt will ask you to confirm that you want to Remove PremierOpinion.

  • MAC

    Option 1.

  • Quit Firefox browsers for all user accounts on the machine.
  • In Finder, select Applications, then PremierOpinion.
  • Click on PremierOpinionUninstall.app. A window will appear asking you to enter a name and password to add a new helper tool.
  • Use an Administrator user name and password and select Add Helper.
  • Once Add Helper is clicked, the software is removed.

  • Option 2.

  • Quit all Firefox browsers for all user accounts on the machine.
  • Locate the PremierOpinion folder in the Applications directory.
  • Drag the PremierOpinion folder to the Trash.
  • Enter the administrator name and password, then click "ok" to complete uninstall.

  • If you are having problems removing the PremierOpinion software, please email us using our support form. Before you remove this ResearchWare, please take a moment to let PremierOpinion know why you have decided to leave the community, so that we can continue to improve our product offerings and services. 


     None of these FAQs have answered my question. What should I do now?

    Please e-mail PremierOpinion for a prompt response to your question through our support form. To facilitate a quick and accurate answer PremierOpinion suggests that you use a subject category that best describes your question. Please provide a brief description of your question, so PremierOpinion can develop a better understanding of the nature of your question.

    Note: PremierOpinion will not be able to respond to your questions without a valid e-mail address. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose other than responding to your question.


     How long do I have to participate?

    Participation in PremierOpinion’s community is continuous. Should you ever decide to stop participating, you may do so at any time. Simply follow our uninstall instructions to cancel your community participation.


     Will I start getting unwanted SPAM and Pop-ups if I join PremierOpinion?

    No. PremierOpinion will not sell your personal information to other companies and will not give any other companies permission to market to you. The only e-mail and pop-ups you will receive once joining PremierOpinion will be invitations for surveys and occasional member services notices.      Are non-US residents eligible for surveys and cash prizes?

    Under most circumstances, US and Canadian residents are eligible to receive cash, prizes and sweepstakes entries. Sponsored software offerings are available for download by PremierOpinion panelists throughout the world, subject to the terms and conditions offered with each piece of software. While participation in PremierOpinion may be available on the Internet to international users, the program is and remains a U.S. offering, and all use of the information collected is and shall remain subject to U.S. law and practice. International users must take this into account and should consult their local laws and independently determine whether participation is desired given these facts.
